Welcome to the website of our company, Southern Spring. We are based in the city of Nanning in the Southern Chinese province of Guangxi, which for thousands of years has been famous for its supply of medicinal herbs.

Our aim is to bring original Chinese herbs to the world. Because we are dedicated to purity and quality, we only sell original herbs, not herbal medications, the content of which the buyer would have a hard time to check.

The original method of preparing Chinese herbs is to boil them as a tea. And we still believe that this method of preparation is superior to any other. For the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medications, there is no necessity for chemical processes, because the efficacy of these herbs has, in the first place, been established through a usage in the form of teas, not capsules.

Furthermore, we are aware that China's rapid economic development has get-rich-quick characteristics. One aspect of these characteristics is a lack of quality control in manufacturing.

The lead contamination of Chinese-made toys has brought worldwide attention to shortcomings in Chinese manufacturing standards. Another proof of the same problem is the low quality of many Chinese pharmaceutical products, which never are as rigorously tested and controlled as in the Western world.

Our website primarily addresses buyers in developed countries. And because we are aware of Western concerns regarding Chinese pharmaceutical products, we have decided to just supply natural herbs that have only been dried, and not treated chemically in any way. To allow a buyer a high level of control, we also do not sell indistinct powders, but herbals in their original appearance, mostly as leaves and root chips.

Use of our website is straight-forward. For each herb, we give the scientific name, an English common name if we know one, as well as the Chinese name in Pinyin and Chinese characters.

Please not that ours is a trading site. We sell Chinese herbs of the highest quality, at very competitive prices. We do not provide medical information on herbs, nor do we try to convince anybody to buy any specific herb.

The Internet is full with information on every Chinese herb we sell. You may want to try Wikipedia.org or Answers.com for general information, or Google Scholar or Medline for scientific articles.

Herbs that are available through us are listed alphabetically, on the left sidebar, in accordance to their scientific names, as these are the least ambiguous.

Payments are accepted through various payment processors, as well as through Western Union, and directly to bank accounts.
